Sound, Tea, Introspection
Three Experiences Rolled into One
New Meditation Experience
The Three Teachings painting at the Ryosoku-In Temple is designated as a cultural property
of Japan. The painting depicts Confucius, Laozi, and Gautama, the leaders of Confucianism,
Taoism, and Buddhism. It’s meant to show that they share the same fundamental belief.
This new meditation experience, which fuses together sound, tea, and introspection, was begun
as a way to demonstrate transcending differences.
It’s a unique tea experience where you’ll ponder life during the meditation program, which
lasts approximately 45 minutes.
The sounds played in the tea room were made by the lead member of Rhizomatiks, the media artist
Daito Manabe. You’ll also receive questions from the monk, Toryo Ito.
Please come try this unique experience!
